Key Elements to Focus on During a Bathroom Upgrade

Essentially, adding value to bathrooms will add value to your home. A modernized bathroom will increase the resale value if you decide to sell your home in the future. If you want to keep your options open for future resale, there are some key factors to keep in mind when deciding what upgrades to make. Let’s take a look!

Key Elements to Focus on During a Bathroom Upgrade:

Shower + Bath Tub: It is nice to have a bathroom that has a tub and a shower. This is a powerful combination when your space permits. Showers are great for everyday use, but bathtubs are an important feature to some homeowners as well. These days, bathtubs are part of important self-care routines and provide stress relief to anyone who has come home after a stressful day of work. If someone has sore muscles or is sick, a warm bath can really help. A spacious tile shower is also a must. when it comes to resale and relaxation. Tile showers can provide easy access for the elderly and have plenty of space to add a tile bench. Shower benches are fantastic because women can sit down to shave; not to mention, providing a safer bathing experience for an older adult.

Showerhead: When choosing a showerhead, you may want to try a rain showerhead. It provides a larger diameter for water spray and makes it easier to wash and rinse. Plus, they add a certain level of elegance and glamour to your bathroom.

Lighting: Bathrooms need adequate lighting. You need to see when bathing, shaving and applying makeup. An underlit bathroom is no help at all! Be sure to update lighting fixtures in the space. Install general overhead lighting as well as task lighting over the sink. Under cabinet lighting is a great way to incorporate accent lighting that can turn into a nightlight for those late-night trips to the bathroom.

Flooring: The floors are an essential part of any bathroom. Any floor that is selected should be able to withstand water. Tile floors can either provide a neutral backdrop for colorful or patterned area rugs or the tile itelf can be the focal point. If you want the warmth of wood, but the durability of tile, consider tiles that look like wood floors. This type of flooring can provide more slip resistance than wood. If you like the look of wood, but want something to hold up better around water, consider laminate or luxury vinyl plank floors.

Storage: If space permits, we recommend installing a double vanity. Multiple people can get ready, and there is much more cabinet storage available. Plus, they can really add to the look and feel of the bathroom with the right countertop.
