Lighting can have a dramatic impact on a room. Sometimes, less is more, and accent lighting can really help create a luxurious ambiance in any room. Most homes are typically set up with a general source of lighting. This standard lighting illuminates your whole space; however, adding accent lighting can really change the mood. From sconces to light rails, there are thousands of ways of incorporating accent lighting to your home. Highlights

Lights can quickly draw our attention to a specific area, and accent lighting can be used to highlight focal points in your room. By applying a light rail or spotlights, you can create very dramatic effects on walls, décor, and painting. This highlighting technique is excellent for amplifying some of the more luxurious values of a room.

Dimmers

When choosing a lightbulb in particular for a lamp, sconce, or bath light, you should use a choose incandescent or halogen bulbs. These bulbs are very compatible with low voltage dimmers. Dimming lights can help create an ambiance to a room, as well. As we said earlier, less is more. Low light atmospheres are usual physiologically associated with ambiance and sophisticated styling.
