Five Considerable Countertop Ideas

Remodeling your kitchen is an investment that will raise your home’s value while making your home feel more personalized to you.  While a big project like this can be intimidating, it is essential to have a design plan before tackling it.  Picking out the perfect cabinets, sink, and drawers is a considerable part of the battle, but countertops can be just as important.  With there being so many different styles of countertops available today, knowing the different kinds and benefits of each will help you pick the perfect choice for your kitchen.  Let’s take a look!

Granite

Granite is a timeless amenity to consider adding to your kitchen’s design.  It is usually fabricated to fit your counters and is made into ten-foot slabs.  These luxurious countertops are traditionally polished and treated with a stain-resistant sealer to make them very durable and easy to clean. Lastly, Granite is hard to scratch but can be cracked if hit with enough force.

Butcher Block

Butcher block countertops have a very organic appeal.  They can be sanded and refinished if gouges and scratches occur.  Butcher block is excellent to consider with helping to absorb sounds in a room and is gentler on your dishware.  While these wood countertops can expand and contract and require maintenance, they are a stylish, budget-friendly improvement that can easily be installed in your kitchen.

Laminate

Laminate countertops are great for people looking for a less expensive route. With high-quality designs, these granite replicas are low-maintenance and can easily be installed by yourself.  These countertops are highly stain-resistant and do well against high heats.

Recycled Glass

Recycled glass countertops are the perfect solution for someone looking for an eco-friendly solution.  They are no sealers, no waxed countertops, and they are easy to clean and extremely durable.  Recycled glass countertops can come in a wide variety of colors and can create a beautiful look to any home.

Concrete

Concrete countertops have come a long way.  With beautiful textures and designs, these have quickly revolutionized the countertop market.  Concrete countertops can price similar to granite countertops but can be stained easier.  They are incredibly durable to heat and scratches and will help you achieve a beautiful look in your kitchen.

Deciding what countertop to go with can be challenging.  Think outside the box and decide what goes with your exact needs and styles.  Consider what you will be doing on the countertops and how susceptible they will be to stains.  Having a better understanding of the different styles and benefits of each countertop can help you make a wise decision. Thanks for reading!
