Kitchen Decor 101

Your kitchen is where you will spend a lot of your time at home.  You want it to feel welcoming and homey while preparing and making food rather than mundane or dreary.  A well-decorated kitchen will have a vibrant energy and well-thought-out décor.  Try creating a theme in your kitchen and using your décor to amplify it.  Here are four great traditions to add customization and curate décor that enhances your design style.

  • 3-Dimensional Wall Art

Wall art that is three-dimensional adds depth and value to a room.  Consider what your theme is and how to portray it through art best.  You could get a wine rack installed on your wall, add a succulent wall art, sconces or anything you want to display to enhance value.

  • Accessories

This can be anything from lighting to cabinet handles.  Try to pick a theme like copper or gold and make your metals match.  Accessories can give the room a sense of unity and balance.  If you have a copper sink, perhaps install copper pendant lighting overhead.  If you keep the place at unity, it will strengthen the rooms overall aesthetic nature.

  • Backsplashes

Backsplashes always bring a kitchen full-circle and make the room feel more elegant and complete.  You could go with a glass mosaic design or rustic marble tiles.  If you have painted walls in the room and own colorful cabinets, find a tile the compliments those colors.  You do not want your backsplash to clash with the room or feel out of place. Instead, you want it to pull together the entire design through balance.

  • Countertops

Changing your countertops is another way to make your kitchen feel complete.  With so many different options available, you are guaranteed to find the perfect one that matches your style.  From butcherblock and glass to granite and vinyl countertops, you are guaranteed to find a unique style that suits you and makes your kitchen feel more like home.

Remodeling your kitchen is an investment that is worth the effort.  Your kitchen should never feel dull and dreary but be a welcome hot spot in the house.  Remember to keep your kitchen clean after you put in the work of the remodel.  You should take pride in your kitchen beauty and be excited to have another room to showcase your design style.
