Hardwood Flooring Color Trends

So the time has come for you to upgrade your current flooring. To ensure you are on-trend with the industry’s current favorites, we have included some valuable information that includes current color trends that will be in style for many, many years.

Traditional Stylings

Gone are the days of the predictable, traditional hardwood colors; those colors that are typical are no longer on-trend. Today on the market, you will see colors at each end of the spectrum with fewer choices of the traditional coloring.

Go Bold

Check out the new bold color trend for wood floors, and do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Our store has talented flooring associates to help you with your choices. Take advantage of their talent for capturing the design of your dreams. Plus, for inspiration, do not forget to look in magazines, look online, and visit model homes in new build communities to view the current floor colors.

The Dark Side

Want to make a statement? Dark stained hardwood floors often beautifully contrast with bright whites, grays, flat black, and not to mention, the very popular white kitchen cabinet trend! Although darker floors of black, charcoal, dark gray, and espresso brown are beautiful, they tend to show dust and debris on the floor and can make your room appear smaller. That being said, interior designers are predicting the darker colors to be around for quite some time due to the industry’s preference for black and dark gray floors.

The Bright Side

As you start to look around the market, you will see bamboo, light maple, driftwood, and light grays. Lighter-colored floors do not show as much dust and debris as darker floors. Also, lighter-colored floors make a room look much larger and brighter, especially if you have high ceilings. We are always partial to the darker, traditional hardwood floor colors of the past, but we are really starting to love these newer lighter floor colors and have become a converted fan! Expect for this trend to be around for quite some time.

We would love to hear from you and how you feel about the hardwood flooring color trends. Let us know below in the comment section.
