Five Ways to Spruce up a Blank Wall

Big blank walls can be a challenge to decorate. While they are just a blank canvas waiting to be filled, they can feel awkward if left undone. If you have a large blank wall in your home, there are hundreds of ways to spruce it up and enhance your design. To help you narrow down the choices, here are several great ways to take a blank wall and make it feel beautiful:

Floating Shelves

Floating shelves are great ways to make your walls more visually-appealing. In fact, you can add several floating shelves in the style that best fits your design. Load your shelves with décor, plants, or pictures to help tailor your home to your style.

Gallery Wall

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so what happens when you add a plethora of images to one wall? A gallery wall! Gallery walls can be created with pictures in all different sizes and styles. Simply find pictures that help enhance your design. This is an excellent opportunity to add some of your favorite pictures in your home and establish your design.

Wall Décor

Maybe you do not want to put up pictures, so instead, you consider adding wall décor. There are hundreds of different styles of wall décor which you can add to your home. Every piece of wall décor can add some flair to your design. From unique Contemporary designs to geometrical shapes, wall décor can come in all sorts of styles and designs to work for your home.

Accent Wall

Another great way to spruce up your wall is by making it your accent wall. If your room is all one color, consider painting this wall a different color. It can become a highlight and focal point of the room. This idea is great to add the color of your choice and have a strong impact on the environment. You can even add tile as a backsplash on the wall or other elements to help make your accent wall feel special to your home.

Mirror

Mirrors are another great tool to use in your home. Walls create visual boundaries; however, mirrors can help eliminate those boundaries by allowing light to flow more freely and give the illusion the wall is not there. In fact, mirrors are great for making rooms look even larger and eliminate awkward blank walls.

Blank walls may seem like a challenge at first, but with a little creativity, they can become a strong statement piece in your home. Do not let your blank walls be an awkward eye-sore anymore. Instead, try using some of these techniques to help take your design to the next level.
