Tips for Designing Your Half Bath

Stop neglecting your half bath. Homeowners will remodel and design every room in their house and never give attention to the bathroom that guests are most commonly directed to see. Designing your half bath is essential to show your attention to detail throughout your home. While the space is not large, it is still commonly used and demands attention. We took some key rules of design and used them to help you create your perfect half bath without breaking the bank. Let’s take a look!

Uniformed Theme

Like any other room, finding a theme is a great place to start with your design. Decide the colors you want to incorporate into your atmosphere. A basic rule of thumb is to select three colors: a primary, a secondary, and an accent color. Use these colors to create harmony in your space. Matching hand towels, drapes, and bath rugs can create unity and help develop your theme.

Detail

Pay attention to the details in your space. Small spaces can easily be critiqued because they are captured within a single glance. Simple details, like your facet and drawer handles being the same metals, can make your area look well-thought-out and balanced. Make sure your space is well-lit and kept clean. Little areas can quickly become cluttered. Do not flood the area with decor, but rather select a few focal points like artwork or unique tiles to add character.

Flooring

Speaking of flooring; tile or luxury vinyl planking can help tailor your space to your style. Selecting the perfect flooring is a fun way to customize your atmosphere and express yourself. Typically, a waterproof flooring is best suited for these areas. Also, do not try to make your environment feel busy. Little rooms can easily become busy with highly expressive wallpapers, floorings, and sinks. Choose the area you want to be your focal point and allow the others to complement it, not fight for attention.

Designing your half bath does not need to feel like a daunting task. Stick to these simple rules and allow your atmosphere to feel more welcoming. Your half bath is probably used more frequently than you realize, so stop neglecting it and give it the love it deserves.
