In today’s market all over the world, many homeowners are fortunate enough to work at home. Since our house is now where we live and work, the office should be functionally designed for maximum comfort and production, not to mention aesthetically pleasing! If you are just starting to work from home, we have listed some fantastic tips below for designing your home office with today’s current modern practices for office space:
Extra Space
Think of what you will need. Perhaps, you will want a desk, desk chair, a bookcase, small work table, and guest seating. While including everything you need, you want to keep the area as minimal as possible. The less cluttered with stuff, the more productive you will become, not to mention being able to locate items at the drop of a hat!
Eliminate Wires
How many times have you walked into your office and just cringed when you saw a spider’s nest worth of technology wires? Well, this is the perfect time to get rid of the nest and make sure the office is clean and streamlined. Not to mention, when you do have to check the organized wires, you are not sitting on the floor pulling wires from the right, left and middle. Additionally, if you have not switched to Bluetooth technology, now is the perfect time to become current with today’s technology. You will love the ease, speed, and the simplicity of this upgrade! If you have some wires you cannot eliminate, there are ways to hide by purchasing concealing wiring.
Color
Think about painting the walls and woodwork all white, and possibly painting the ceiling a fun color for a touch of fun. Use bright pops of color with a tall, indoor house plant or through large pieces of artwork. Also, if you have a small bookcase or end table, think about choosing one in a bright color! Think about keeping windows open and clean to bring in nature and the sunshine.
