What Your Design Style Says About You (Part Two)

How we choose to design our space is a unique way of expressing ourselves.  We believe that every design style is an opportunity to show yourself.  The more you understand the different types of designs, the better you can choose a style for your home.  In fact, experts believe that in determining your design, you actually are representing a part of yourself. Here are some common characteristics associated with homeowners that choose the following styles:

Bohemian

Bohemian design is inspired by a free-spirited environment.   Individuals who incorporate Bohemian design to their home are usually free-thinkers and nonconformist.  Adding tapestry, patterns, rugs, paintings, and pillows can add to this unique design.  It is an artsy style packed with accessories and embellishments.  As it is often referred to as an “unorthodox design,” it works great for people who think outside the box.  It is fun and makes for a homey space.

Minimalist

Minimalism is a simple yet elegant lifestyle.  These individuals enjoy the openness of space.  Clutter and chaos are a no-go with these people.  Everything has a place and a sense of order.  This helps minimalist structure their lives.  Minimalism is a lifestyle and can be reflected in more than just design but in every aspect of scheduling in their life.

Urban

Urban design takes the sophistication from the city and packs it into a modern-influenced design.  Urban design is a blend of contemporary and industrial styles but not as “aggressive.”  It amplifies its spacious atmosphere with an airy, minimalist approach while influenced by a soft-hued, neutral color palette.  This is great for a classy and elegant approach to lofts for city dwellers.  It feels clean and gives tribute to city life while allowing open architecture to shine.  These people take pride in their city.  They find the good in the urban environments and use their design to reflect it.

Every design and room theme have different ways of expressing your style.  Find a design theme that is best tailored to your needs and lifestyle.  With countless themes available, you are sure to find the perfect one for you. Be sure to check out the last post in our series here.
