Summer is a wonderful time for your children. There are plenty of activities from swimming to camp to sports. However, with the lack of schedules comes a problem with nutrition. Many families find it harder to keep children eating well during the summer, especially with the prevalence of ice cream and popsicles. One great solution is to make sure those cool treats are good for them!
The recipe below is an appetizing yet vitamin rich snack. When your children crave something that is cold, turn to these popsicles! These pops are a great snack for anyone, anytime, not only during the summer. They satisfy your sweet tooth and taste creamy and delicious! The best part is that you can have your kids help as well.
What You Need:
Electric Mixer
1 Ice Tray
Short Popsicle Sticks or Plastic Silverware
Ingredients:
2 Bananas
3 Tbsp. Smooth Peanut Butter
½ Cup Plain or Vanilla Yogurt
Directions:
Place all ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer or a food processor to mix the contents into a smooth and creamy mixture.
Spoon mixture into ice trays and fill to the top.
Place short popsicle sticks in the center of each popsicle. Freeze for 2 hours.
*If you cannot find small popsicle sticks, cut the tops off plastic silverware. Leaving only the plastic handle and place in the center of the pop.
